Meet 2 participants from the Digital Education Accelerator 2023 edition

The second edition of the Digital Education Accelerator started in Denmark in June 2023. Out of 21 applicants, 8 projects will take part in a 6-month growth programme to scale up their digital education solutions across Europe.

Kari Savolainen is the CEO and co-founder of Reactored. His team’s innovation solution is called AI-la, an interactive task creator tool that helps teachers easily create language learning lessons with a variety of different types of tasks.

Kristina Jonkuviene is the co-founder of Gooliver and AI expert for Edit.ai solution. Edit.ai helps teachers facilitate integrated learning for 1-12 graders by generating unique project descriptions with AI.

How was your experience of the kick-off week?

Kari: It was a very inspiring experience! It was amazing to really get to know the other entrepreneurs as the accommodation supported creating a very close community. We were able to share our knowledge, learn from each other, and have great discussions. The daily activities, both formal and informal, created a very strong connection and trust between the participants.

Kristina: It was really magical, I loved it! The week was so much more than what we had expected. I feel like we are one big family now and I want to continue this journey together. Everyone felt really safe together and there was mutual respect towards each other. We now know each other’s struggles and can help and receive help from each other.

I felt like I could learn 100 times faster in the group than trying to figure it all out by myself.”

How did the kick-off week support your learning?

Kari: The activities made us reflect on our actions and goals, and made us think outside the box. The reflections were also shared with others with the possibility to give and receive feedback, it helped refine my own thought processes, ideas and plans.

Kristina: In all possible ways! I learnt a lot through different conversations and activities that we had during the week. It was a good combination of different types of activities. I felt like I could learn 100 times faster in the group than trying to figure it all out by myself.

Our goal is to have +10 000 teachers as users within the next 6 months.”

What are your expectations for the upcoming 6 months in the programme?

Kari: We would like to be able to create localised versions of our tool so that we could implement it in schools globally. Our goal is to have +10 000 teachers as users in different countries within the next 6 months.

Kristina: We want to continue learning together and build long-term friendships. We want to build our minimum viable product (MVP), and test and validate our solution in as many countries as possible. We hope the programme will build our muscles by helping us connect with the people we will need in the future.
