Timeline

  • 2022 - first publication

    The first publication of the guidelines was developed by the European Commission’s Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence and Data in Education and Training, with feedback from educators and experts.

  • 2026 - guidelines update

    The update was prepared by the Working Group on the Ethical Use of AI and Data in Education, convened through the European Digital Education Hub. (First available in English, followed by translations in all EU languages)

Funding

Through Erasmus+, the Commission provides ongoing support for grassroot projects on AI and data in education.
