Erasmus+ versus Erasmus Mundus: what's the difference?

Erasmus Mundus is a specific part of Erasmus+, the EU’s overarching programme supporting education, training, youth, and sports.

While Erasmus+ includes many other opportunities, Erasmus Mundus focuses specifically on joint master’s programmes offered by university partnerships.

Top reasons to apply

  • prestigious programmes: you’ll join some of the most prestigious programmes in Europe, recognised for their innovation, high academic standards and international reputation
  • study across countries: experience life in multiple countries and take your learning further at universities with diverse teaching styles and expertise
  • unique experiences: take part in internships, research projects, or fieldwork, applying your skills in real-world settings
  • career opportunities: build your international network and develop connections with peers, professors, and industry leaders to support your career goals
  • financial support: scholarships are available that cover tuition fees, travel, and living costs, making the programme accessible to students worldwide

Who is eligible

Erasmus Mundus is open to students worldwide. A bachelor's degree is required to apply, but your nationality does not affect your eligibility.
