To support Ukrainian children’s right to education during the unjust war that has been waged for 1,000 days, the Ukrainian government and the European Commission have joined forces to provide more textbooks for Ukrainian pupils.

The books were printed with Erasmus+ funds, and include information about Erasmus+ and its opportunities for Ukrainian learners and teachers.

After being printed in Poland, Plan International helped to deliver the books to Poltava in Ukraine. Then with the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, the books were delivered to schools across the country.

On 24 October, Katarína Mathernová, EU ambassador to Ukraine, handed over 1,100 textbooks to children of the Sofiyivsko-Borshchahivskyi lyceum, Kyiv Region.

This story of cooperation illustrates how the European Union and the European Education Area are committed to continue supporting Ukraine, bringing resources to allow for pupils to continuing their studies.

By supporting pupils, the aim is also to maximise the opportunities available under Erasmus+ and support Ukrainian displaced pupils, learners and staff and the wider education sector in Ukraine.
