About EMMPO

EMMPO helps young people start their careers in tech by providing them online courses that are catered to their interests (such as climate change, e-commerce, entrepreneurship). The courses have specific themes and are developed with or for tech companies.

EMMPO is building an alternative solution to help companies in strengthening their employer branding and make meaningful connections with the Gen Z tech talents through education.

Meet Marija Musja

Marija is the CEO and founder of EMMPO. She has a background in politics and law, combined with her previous experience as a human rights advocate with organisations such as the Law Society of London, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and Amnesty International.

Her experiences in working with teenage girls inspired her to start a project that economically empowers girls through education in technology.

Who is in your team?

Marija Musja: I’m currently in the process of building a new team and looking for a senior Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who shares my vision of future talents’ engagement and has experience working in start-ups.

EMMPO is supported by many senior experts from different fields, such as deep tech, education, and innovation to take our vision from the ground and become the number one career-focused platform for Gen Z.

What are the biggest challenges in digital education?

Marija Musja: Student engagement and motivation are often overlooked by content creators and education providers These issues also are coupled with limited access to technology and digital literacy.

Despite the wide range of online educational resources available, completion rates for online courses remain surprisingly low. This might be due to poor course design, limited interactions, external distractions, and the possibility of a gap between learners' expectations and the actual course content.

The career landscape continuously changes: every year there are new job trends and skills demands. Take the example of the growing demand for green skills. In this context, it is hard for learners to navigate the online education landscape and make strategic decisions for their future careers.

How does your solution aims to fix these challenges?

Marija Musja: EMMPO is offering high school students and university graduates career advice to better understand which jobs in the technology field match their personality type and interests. It achieves this through education.

We measure students' interests and offer them online courses to test a career and develop new skills.

“In today's fast-changing world, we believe the best way to help young people make informed decisions about their future education and employment is by immersing them in the actual experience of a specific job.” - Marija Musja, CEO and founder of EMMPO

Our educational content is developed in partnership with companies to provide students with insights into workplace culture, values, and various career opportunities.

How is the accelerator programme supporting you?

Marija Musja: It increases the visibility of our solution, it facilitates collaboration with diverse stakeholders and provides a unique opportunity to work with top experts from different domains.

Together, we have the potential to make a significant impact by guiding young people through the vast landscape of career opportunities within the tech industry. By doing so, we can effectively address and bridge the digital tech gap.

What are the next steps for your team?

Marija Musja: We currently have 30 000 students aged 15-25 from 193 countries. We offer more than 100 hours of educational content in different technical subjects, and we are connected with companies interested in interacting with our community.

Our next project is to create a system that suggests courses based on students' interests and links them to job opportunities.
