Workshops and working groups

Connect in person. Learn together. Advance digital education.
Members of the hub's workshops dedicate time to brainstorming ideas and challenges

The European Digital Education Hub brings the community together throughout the year – both online and in person.

Our workshops and working groups (squads) are unique opportunities to connect, share ideas, acquire new skills, and work on projects. They bring together people that want to shape the future of digital education.

Hub workshops

Throughout the year, the Hub organises workshops in cities across Europe. These events bring together 30 participants from diverse backgrounds to:

  • explore key topics in digital education
  • share ideas and experiences
  • pick up new skills and practical tools
  • co-create solutions with experts

Each workshop runs over two days and focuses on real-world challenges.

In their own words

Members share about their collaborative experiences.

The workshop was inspiring because my organisation is in the beginning of the process - and making connections with people from other kinds of organisations with other points of views - to be able to connect in many ways during the event with people I did not know before – was truly amazing.

- Participant from Italy

For me, it was important to get a broader/ overall picture: my organisation is looking at approaches to micro-credentials from other countries and this is exactly what I will be taking home from this event. Fellow participants had very interesting projects and I know that I will keep in touch with them after this workshop!

Hub squads

The Hub also has short-term working groups, called “squads.” Each squad has about 20 members and is led by an expert on the topic.

Squads meet regularly online (on Microsoft Teams) and stay active for up to 6 months.

Squad topics include:

  • lessons from COVID-19
  • digital education in times of crisis
  • interoperability
  • micro-credentials
  • AI in education
  • digital skills
  • sustainability and digital education
  • diversity, equity, and inclusion

What do squads do?

They co-create practical outputs like:

  • policy recommendations
  • guidelines
  • learning materials
  • courses

Who are we looking for?

Anyone working in education, training, or digital learning can apply.

You should:

  • have experience in digital education
  • be passionate about the topic of the working group
  • show effective methods or approaches in the field
  • be ready to share your knowledge and promote the working group’s findings
  • commit at least one hour a week

Hub squads and working groups run on a voluntary basis and participation is unpaid.

Spotlight: Higher education interoperability working group

Alongside the short-term squads, the Hub is home to a long-term working group focused on higher education interoperability.

In this group, experts work towards a future where systems across Europe can connect and work together seamlessly.
