European Innovative Teaching Award launched

About the Award

The European Innovative Teaching Award showcases outstanding teaching practices within projects funded by the 2014-2020 Erasmus+ programme.

At the launch event, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, announced the awards per Erasmus+ programme country in the following four categories

  • early childhood education and care
  • primary education
  • secondary education
  • vocational education and training schools

The winning projects of this year’s edition of the Award developed new and innovative ways of combining distance, onsite and digital learning.

Their achievements and innovation contribute to effective and inclusive education. These projects can inspire the development of new teaching practices as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They helped teachers to develop new competences, engaged them in whole-school approaches and maximised the benefits of collaboration between teachers and their schools with European partners.
