I am a Serbian student who chose Austria as my study destination, specifically the Technical University (TU) in Graz, for an exchange semester in the field of Information, Communication, and Technology.

Why study in Austria?

The decision to study in Austria was driven by the university's impressive curriculum in my field of interest and the renowned reputation of Graz as a vibrant "student hub" with a diverse community of over 60,000 students. Additionally, I saw this as an opportunity to refresh my rusty German language skills and immerse myself in the local culture.

My overall European study experience was one of the best I've had. The Austrian education system is similar to my home country so it eased the adaptation process Plus, TU Graz lived up to its reputation.

Making new friends

The best thing about studying in Europe, in my view, goes beyond academic pursuits. It's the opportunity to meet people from all corners of the world, as well as locals, exchanging experiences, and forming friendships that last a lifetime.

Student life in Europe unfolded naturally with numerous events, exploring night life, and enjoying seasonal festivities.

Finances and accommodation

Financing my studies involved a combination of a scholarship, personal savings, and careful budgeting.

Regarding accommodation, the International Office of the University provided a helpful guidebook. This helped my search for dorms and other housing options ahead of time, before moved out of my home country.
