Have your say and help us plan the next steps to tackle disinformation

Since 2022, teachers and educators have been using our guidelines to tackle disinformation. Fill in our survey by 3 November to help us further improve them and plan the next steps.

The European Commission rolled out the guidelines in October 2022 to provide hands-on, practical advice for educators and teachers on how to tackle disinformation by promoting digital literacy.

Since then, the guidelines have been downloaded 12 000 times. Recently, they have been translated into Serbian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Albanian, Bosnian, and Georgian, in addition to being available in all EU languages.

Have your say

As we celebrate their two-year anniversary, we want to gather feedback on the practical use of the guidelines so far and on the next steps.

Fill in our survey by 3 November to share your experiences and thoughts. We want to hear your views!

By participating in this survey, you can help shape the future of digital education and play a crucial role in supporting the next generation of learners.

About the guidelines

The guidelines are designed for primary and secondary teachers. Specialist knowledge of digital education is not required. They provide practical tips, activity plans and useful knowledge about how disinformation works.

They aim to ensure that young people have the skills and competences to engage critically with the online world and build resilience towards disinformation.

The guidelines bring together pedagogy and practice in one easy-to-use format and answer questions such as

  • How do we get young people excited about fact-checking and critical thinking?
  • How can I check the validity of content online?
  • How can I identify deep fakes?

The guidelines are part of the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027.
