Second community workshop: European Digital Education Hub

Join us on 27-28 October 2022 to discuss digital education in times of crises.

The Hub’s second community workshop will take place on 27-28 October 2022 in Brussels. Its topic will be ‘Digital Education in Times of Crises: Emergency Education Enablers’.

The current conflict in Ukraine will be the starting point from which participants can share insights and develop policy recommendations on emergency education enablers.

While the first community workshop in Tallinn in June 2022 focused on practices and ‘Mainstreaming Lessons from COVID-19’, this workshop will have a strong focus on policy implications.

Workshop participants will first map the current state of initiatives at the national and European levels. Experts from the Brussels policy landscape will be invited to provide input. They will then analyse emerging gaps to find out which tools and content are still missing at the European Union (EU) level.

Participants will conclude with a set of policy recommendations on digital education in times of crises. These recommendations will be shared in the Hub community afterwards.

The workshop will bring together digital education stakeholders from all sectors and offer the opportunity for participants to exchange cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary perspectives on digital education in times of crises. Workshop participants will be able to work together, share best practices and engage in peer-learning.

‘Squad’ working group on Digital Education in Times of Crises

As a member of the European Digital Education Hub, you can also join a working group (a so-called ‘squad’), which addresses the topic ‘Digital Education in Times of Crises’.

To harvest synergies between the workshop and the squad, a workshop session will be dedicated to updates on the work of the squad.

At the same time, workshop participants who are members of the squad will gain insights into the policy discussions and can report back to their squad colleagues.

How to participate

You will find all details on this workshop and the squad in the completely free online community of the European Digital Education Hub. To become a member of the Hub, you simply need to register to join the Hub (please note that it takes 2-3 working days for your registration to be processed).

Make sure to join the Hub by 27 September 2022 at the latest to have access to the online community and be able to sign up for the workshop in time. You can sign up for the workshop and/or the squad until Sunday 2 October 2022.

About the Hub

The Hub is an open, inclusive, supportive, and practice-oriented space for digital education stakeholders from all over Europe. You can join as a practitioner, researcher, entrepreneur and policy-maker or simply as an individual who is interested in digital education.

The objective of the European Digital Education Hub is to help overcome the current fragmentation of digital education policy, research and implementation practices at European level.

To achieve this goal, the Hub offers numerous free events and activities to its members such as this second community workshop. All travel costs and accommodation will be covered for community members of the Hub.
