About the workshop

The objective of the workshop to identify key lessons on how public policy can support more structured connections between higher education, teacher training institutes and schools.

International policy makers and practitioners will discuss how to strengthen the collaboration between higher education and schools for the development of competencies for innovation. The key questions guiding the discussions will be:

• How can higher education support the integration of digital and green competencies in initial teacher education programmes and activities?
• How can science communication contribute to fostering a more continuous connection between teacher training institutes, higher education, and school practitioners?

The workshop is open to those interested in developing talent for innovation in secondary and higher education, as well as adult upskilling and reskilling. This includes:

• businesses

The online workshop will take place on 22 November 14.00-16.00 CET.

Registrations are currently open and will run up until and including the day of the workshop.

The workshop is organised by the European Commission in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

The workshop is connected to the Education and Innovation Practice Community (EIPC), an initiative of the New European Innovation Agenda.
