The European Commission promotes a culture of evaluation in education policy. It works with knowledge providers to support evidence-based policymaking in education and skills. This page lists some of the resources they produce.

ENESET

Research to policy reports

An international network of experts focused on the economic and social dimension of education and training created and funded by the European Commission. 

As an advisory body, ENESET aims to develop and disseminate policy-relevant knowledge and evidence, bridging the gap between research and policy action. 

It helps European and national policymakers to access high-quality research and rigorous scientific support to inform policy decisions, by producing a wide range of publications and webinars.

A network of 40 European National Units providing data and analyses on European education systems.

Joint Research Centre (JRC)

Provides evidence to policy makers by analysing how competences and skills can be acquired by individuals through education, training and on-the-job experience. The JRC’s work on skills intelligence aims to define the skills of the future and the ones needed for the digital and green transitions.

Cedefop

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training provides publications and online tools related to VET, jobs and skills. These include a skills intelligence online tool, a curated selection of indicators related to skills, education and training, and the labour market. It's intended to help policymakers, researchers, and skills practitioners understand current trends.

Eurofound

The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) is a European Union Agency, whose role is to provide knowledge to assist in the development of better social, employment and work-related policies.

In the field of the European Pillar of Social Rights and education indicators, Eurofound performs 'convergence analysis' in the EU using the convergEU app. This aims to describe the situation when EU countries are improving their performances towards a certain economic and social policy target while decreasing the disparities among them.
