Jean Monnet Teacher Training
Join European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, for the online launch of the new Jean Monnet for Schools Teacher Training action, part of the 2021-2027 Erasmus+ programme.
Collectively, the Jean Monnet Actions stimulate teaching and learning on European Union (EU) matters to raise awareness of EU values and promote active citizenship from an early age.
New funding opportunities are now open for:
- higher education institutions offering teacher training
- teacher training institutes and agencies
The targeted organisations should support schools and vocational education and training (VET) providers with the planning, organisation and delivery of content related to the EU through their activities.

Towards a European Education Area
Education is the foundation for personal fulfilment, employability and active and responsible citizenship.
In her Political Guidelines, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen committed to making the European Education Area a reality by 2025.
Increasing the quality of education provided throughout the EU is one of the key dimensions of the European Education Area.
The new Jean Monnet Actions, including Jean Monnet Teacher Training, will contribute by supporting education on EU matters in primary and secondary schools and VET centres.
This, in turn, will contribute to achieving the Commission’s political priority of promoting our European way of life and EU values.
